This blog is about my Lees McRae college and collegiate cycling experience. Lees McRae is a small college of around 900 students located in Banner Elk, North Carolina. But don't let the small size of this school fool you, Lees McRae is home to one of the nations top D1 cycling teams. I hope you all enjoy watching me grow as a person and cyclist these next four years of my life.

Oh how I hate bugs..
I was stung 22 times by yellow jackets the other day while riding my mountain bike on the home course. As soon as I started getting stung I dropped my bike and just ran. I made it down to the fire road and immediately jumped into the river. I looked down and could still see bee's stinging my through my bibs. After pulling myself back together I knew it was time to start walking back up towards campus about 1.5 miles up a fire road. Luckily ran into a guy who worked for Banner Elk city as I started walking and he took me back up to campus. I knew I was stung a lot so I told my RA right away and took 2 benadril. I was in a lot of pain by then and I accidentally started taking a lot of benadril and ended up passing out. The next few days where very painful days full of me sitting in front of my fridge swapping out ice packs and trying to numb the pain of the 22 stings. The day after I was stung a the RD decided to call the ambulance just to make sure I was going to be okay. I'm glad the parametics came just so I had some peace of mind that I was going to be okay. What a crazy experience. I hate bugs!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! with a passion.
