This blog is about my Lees McRae college and collegiate cycling experience. Lees McRae is a small college of around 900 students located in Banner Elk, North Carolina. But don't let the small size of this school fool you, Lees McRae is home to one of the nations top D1 cycling teams. I hope you all enjoy watching me grow as a person and cyclist these next four years of my life.

Blue Ridge Parkway
Rode for 3 hours yesterday with a whopping 75k or 46 miles. I've switched my Garmin to read kilometers so that I can get used to the metric system (which is used in almost every country but ours). The ride was absolutely spectacular. There was a point where we where on a bridge that was just on the side of the mountain. The views were breathtaking, not to mention how beautiful of a day it was. I was able to ride comfortable in a wind jacket at leg warmers.
I was talked into riding by my roommate and his neighbor who came up for the weekend but was hesitant because I was still feeling sick. I ended up going and I'm glad I did. The ride felt really good after being off the bike for a week and it helped clear my chest a little bit as well. I'm still not 100% but I am on the tail end of it. I'll probably just puts around the cycle cross course today practicing dismounting for barriers and run ups. Also I will go to the gym and pump some iron and work my core. And after all that I'll relax and do some slack line in the evening with some of my friends. I'm becoming a pretty good slack liner and want to get one of my own. Well I better get to some homework done so I have time for all this later! Goodbye for now.
