This blog is about my Lees McRae college and collegiate cycling experience. Lees McRae is a small college of around 900 students located in Banner Elk, North Carolina. But don't let the small size of this school fool you, Lees McRae is home to one of the nations top D1 cycling teams. I hope you all enjoy watching me grow as a person and cyclist these next four years of my life.

Some people that inspire me
My two favorite athletes, Ryan Hall, and Steve Prefontain. Ryan Is by far my favorite athlete. He is a professional marathoner from Big Bear California. He graduated from Stanford and scene then has competed in the 2008, and 2012 Olympic Games. He won the 2008 Boston Marathon, the most prestigious USA marathon and still holds the American Record for the half marathon at 59:43. But among his accomplishments I believe the most inspirational thing about Ryan is his beliefs. Hall is a firm believer in the Lord and is a great example through his actions. He inspires me to be a stronger Christian and a good example to others.
Then there is Pre. He is an inspiration because of the way he ran. He ran every race like it was his last. I wish I could of seen him race in real life sometime. My former cross country coach has seen him race before. She said " He looked like a lion running out in front with his huge chest and his long hair swaying in the wind." That would have been fun to see. One of my favorite quotes from Pre says, "A lot of people run a race to see who is fastest. I run to see who has the most guts, who can punish himself into exhausting pace, and then at the end, punish himself even more."
Although Pre isn't a good Christian example he still inspires me and everyone who participates in distance running.
